This seminar will give an overview of the Passivhaus standard and the importance of careful planning at the early stages of Passivhaus design. It will cover issues such as building orientation and fabric, air tightness strategy, thermal bridging and the importance of triple glazing in the UK. The session will explain how Passivhaus fits in with existing UK standards. It will include contributions from experienced practitioners showcasing leading Passivhaus projects and provide examples of cost data when compared to UK building regulations and other standards.
