Questions / Misconceptions about Passivhaus

Event at The Foundry organised by Robin Nicholson on the evening of November 28th (5.30 for 5.45 start) on the topic of common questions/misconceptions about passivhaus (with wine and nibbles). Jon Bootland of the passivhaus trust will chair the debate.  Small event aimed at professionals, academics, clients, developers and journalists; 30-40 people.

Jon will begin the talk by posing the following questions to the audience and speakers.

  1. What's the cost and payback time?
  2. Isn't MVHR failure common?
  3. "Overheating is a problem with passivhaus"
  4. "Poor UK workmanship is unable to meet air tightness levels"
  5. Do you need to go all the way?
  6. "Passivhaus buildings all look the same and hinders architectural expression"

Each speaker will then give a max 10 minute presentation to tackle some of these items by reference to specific projects. Following the presentations there will be an open chat/debate with guests. 

Justin Bere will be speaking. The other invited speakers are Ben Shuster (Willmott Dixon), Ivan Christmas (Camden development manager) and Will South (Certified passivhaus designer at Co create Consulting) .
