Dance Choreographer's low energy home

In progress
Church Cottage Not Passivhaus Interior Charred Timber

A low energy refurbishment of one of the oldest houses in Islington, for the latest of our famous dance & theatre clients.

Over its life the house has been the subject of several building alterations and additions. The last of these additions were somewhat crudely built in the 1950's and 1960's. bere:architects were engaged to demolish these additions and create a new extension that is sensitive to the character and craftmanship of the original cottage and yet provides a new, warm, draughtfree, energy-efficient everyday living space for the client, whilst also being designed to transform easily into a dramatic party space.

The project features highly detailed bespoke furniture and kitchen fittings, a roof terrace with a folded steel staircase leading from a small garden, charred timber cladding and landscaping by Kim Wilkie Associates.

The project is due for completion spring 2013.
