Theatre Designer's Home Interiors

Bere:architects completely remodelled this Clerkenwell loft for a famous theatre designer as a calm and comfortable retreat from the pressures of a hectic professional life. Bespoke furniture and fittings were made from natural materials including limed oak, saddle leather and steel. The work is inspired by a love of Scandinavian modernism, together with nature and art are constant inspirations in our work.

Car Designer's Home Interiors

In 1997 we rebuilt an old mews building in a Conservation Area in Hampstead, north London, creating a compact new home with a roof garden. The building presents a quintessentially English appearance at street-level with a rounded top floor, while inside the design applies a curvaceous geometry that plays with the light.

Sylvanus House Interiors

A compact tree-top house situated on a sloping site on the edge of Highgate Cemetery is surrounded by a nature reserve and a tree-lined lane. The house takes its form from the sloping site. A gently twisting structure, the house opens up towards the winter sun. An overhanging roof canopy controls the summer heat gain. From the top floor terrace a magical, shimmering panorama of London can be seen at night through a veil of trees.

Camden Passivhaus Interiors

Building interiors should be healthy as well as beautiful. This energy efficient Passivhaus also sets a benchmark for indoor comfort and the highest indoor air quality. Even when windows are closed in the winter months, perfect levels of air humidity protect the occupants from elevated levels of bacteria, viruses and asthma inducing contaminants that are common in the warm, damp air of many conventional centrally heated homes. A passivhaus is designed to be health-enhancing. It is free from cold drafts and cold, damp walls. Condensation is non-existent.

Focus House Interiors

This low maintenance, low energy, low cost home has been designed as an example of a simpler framework for future living.

The main objective was to exchange a large, high maintenance house for a compact low maintenance, energy preserving house that would allow a young couple and their children to shift the focus of their life by providing them with more actual living space by transposing the traditional space division of the Victorian house to suit present-day needs.

Ladbroke Square

This large family house in Notting Hill has been completely refurbished and extended to create rooms that are elegant, comfortable and calm. Our work is inspired by the under-stated elegance of Scandinavian modernism. All details are carefully worked through to give lasting pleasure to the occupants. We have aimed for perfection in every detail from the size and location of a shadow gap to the polished stainless steel fixings for the leather staircase handrail. Natural materials predominate in all our work. Gentle colours and daylight bathe sculpted forms.

Thomas More Chambers

This law chambers in Lincoln’s Inn Fields wanted a beautiful but economical refurbishment of a badly neglected historic building. We managed the total refurbishment of the building and developed the colour scheme with Curtis Bran paint specialists. We also detailed and manufactured the furniture and signage throughout chambers.
