The first two years of energy monitoring of this Passive House Plus, finds that the building is generating twice as much energy in a year as it uses, exports ten times as much energy as it imports from the grid, and it is performing slightly better than designed.

A 13kWh battery is being installed in March 2018 so that over the coming year we will be able to compare the performance of the house with and without a battery. Our calculations show that after the battery has been installed, the house will be very close to being able to meet even its winter energy demand, for all occupant uses, including plug loads, cooking and lighting. We hope to test what it would take to come off-grid in the winter months.
