The Larch house has won the Sustainability Category at the RICS Wales 2011 awards. The coveted award was collected by bere: architects and United Welsh Housing Association at a ceremony in Cardiff on Friday 13th May. Although much smaller in scale than any of the other shortlisted projects, the Larch House was praised for being a genuine solution for low energy social housing and for providing a significant educational role for building professionals and school children alike through the regular tours that have been organised over the past year. We are particularly pleased that our Larch House has been honoured in this way as the RICS Sustainability Award is the most respected and professional award of its kind in the construction industry, with truly searching criteria, informed judges and a professional assessment process. Following on from this win, the Larch House will be automatically entered into the National RICS Awards 2011 later this year.
